As somewhat of a companion to our Rodney Ascher-related post from yesterday, the above video is an example of the kind of incredibly thorough examination and theorizing that some The Shining fanatics have devoted to Stanley Kubrick’s horror masterpiece. This essay in particular exhaustively details the famous conspiracy theory claiming The Shining as a code/riddle-filled movie that reveals – and serves as a confession of – Kubrick’s involvement in the faking of the Apollo moon landing (which is one of a few theories regarding the film explored in Ascher’s 2012 documentary Room 237).
